GCE Subsea Secures Innovation Funding

The cluster was recently awarded 1 million Norwegian kroner from Innovation Norway to foster innovation.

Through the Norwegian Innovation Clusters programme (external site in Norwegian) all Arena, NCE and GCE Clusters are eligible to apply for funding through the yearly innovation framework (“Innovasjonsrammen”).

The overarching goal of the framework is to stimulate innovation through innovation and research projects between companies. The funds will be used for the mobilisation of development projects and to exchange ideas and project development (conceptualisation) with a commercial goal.

Focus on Green Technology and Additionality

Through continuous dialogue and yearly visits to our partner and member companies, GCE Subsea has identified six projects that will be granted funding from Innovation Norway through Innovasjonsrammen. 40 per cent of these being related to innovative projects with a positive environmental impact.

The funding will help to ensure that the projects are positioned to obtain further financing through The Research Council of Norway and Innovation Norway’s general funding schemes, or from private investors.
