Big Interest for New Masters Degree Programme
450 students have applied for 22 places at the new Masters degree programme in Ocean Technology, which will start in August 2017.
335 students have applied for the 15 places in the five-year programme, while 115 students have applied for the seven places at the two-year programme. With 111 first priority applicants, the programme will get top students.
GCE Subsea has actively supported the establishment of the new Masters degree programme, and we are very pleased with the huge interest and high number of applicants. This shows that students see the huge potential for future growth within the ocean industries.
Many Opportunities
The programme will have two main directions; Marine Measurement and Control Technology and Marine Installations. The students can specialise within oil and gas, environmental monitoring, fisheries and aquaculture or marine minerals.
The new programme is more applied compared to traditional Masters programmes and fits very well with the subsea clusters strengths and possibilities for further growth. Norway needs candidates who can advance the technology and knowledge within ocean technology and who can utilise this both within existing and new applications.

Strong and Broad Collaboration
The Masters programme in Ocean Technology is a collaboration between the University of Bergen, Western Norway University of Applied Sciences and the Royal Norwegian Naval Academy.
Business and R&D institutions in the area will also contribute with external teachers, internships and Master projects to students. Please contact us if you are interested in proposing Master projects.
