FORESEA offers 11 million Euros funding for testing in ocean energy research facilities around Europe.

Last week, at the Offshore Energy 2017 conference, the FORESEA (Funding Ocean Energy through Strategic European Action) programme, fostered by our partner Ocean Energy Europe, launched its 4th call for proposals.

The call is looking to work with lateral industries (oil and gas, offshore wind, shipping etc.), to adapt and bring their technologies to the offshore renewables market.

Successful applicants will receive support to test at one of FORESEA’s world-leading test centres including EMEC (UK), DMEC (NL), SEM REV (FR) and SmartBay (IE).

What is Covered

The funding on offer covers the cost of the test at these facilities and there is also significant value to be gained in terms of knowledge, networks and market development.

This could be relevant for a number of GCE Subsea members building offshore renewables capability. In addition to NeoTurbine and Aqwator who are developing tidal end wave energy solutions, we have several member companies who are already delivering products and services to the offshore wind industry.
