Meeting of the Minds at CEO Forum
The sign of the times, future scenarios with superclusters and hairy goals were some of the themes presented and discussed during this year’s CEO Forum.
State Secretary Roy Angelvik spoke about how Norway increasingly have and shall capitalise from value creation from the oceans, and Professor Torger Reve introduced us to innovate ecosystems and superclusters that could represent a way forward for the ocean industries. Pointing towards Marineholmen as a strong case for this.
Statoil showed the audience their many existing and future projects and stated that “The future is unmanned solutions”. Statoil have also traded in the value “Hands on” with “Collaborative” signalling an increased focus on collaboration with the industry.
DNV GL gave the crowd input on digitalisation as a competitive advantage, and the importance of owning and sharing data which in most cases adds value and gives synergy, rather than strengthens competition.
Challenges and Opportunities
There were two panel debates during the forum led by Atle Kvamme from Bergen Næringsråd – themes were the challenges and opportunities that lie within the subsea industry at present, and how GCE Subsea can work as a strategic tool for the industry were debated.
The audience participated in the debate and contributed by submitting key words to form a word cloud that helped steer the discussion. Watch our film above to learn more about what went on this day.
