Kuwait Oil and Fluidsep with Pilot Project
The start of the world first horizontal downhole separator system pilot project in a land well announced at ONS 2018 – solving the produced water management challenge.
Kuwait Oil Company during the Middle East Market Information session on Monday 27 August arranged by NORWEP at ONS 2018, announced the collaboration agreement with Fluidsep, a member of GCE Subsea and BTO/Nyskapingsparken, for piloting the World First Horizontal Downhole Separation System in Land Wells in Kuwait.
The Pilot project is a result of the ongoing Joint Industry Project Qualification supported in addition by Aker BP and Innovation Norway for commercialising the Fluidsep Downhole Processing Plant Technology.
Fluidsep Downhole Processing Plant (DPP) will be commercially available Q2-2020.
The Fluidsep DP allows separation to OSPAR requirements over the full range of water cuts and combines production and injection in one well. Removal of water adjacent to the Producing reservoir results in significantly increased oil recovery and simultaneously reduced CO2 footprint.
