International Student Exchange Programme

GCE Subsea recently signed a collaboration agreement with IAESTE Bergen, with the aim of facilitating an increase in international student exchange.

As the world is becoming smaller, international experience is invaluable to Norwegian companies in a competitive market. Through the International Association for The Exchange Of Students for Technical Experience (IAESTE), your company has the opportunity to employ qualified international students to strengthen your workforce. The programme is a great way to evaluate how well the student fits within the company.

How Does it Work?

IAESTE is an international organisation that gives students, in their 85 member countries, the opportunity to obtain international working experience and expertise. By employing a foreign student intern at your company, you also provide a Norwegian student with the opportunity to work abroad and get valuable international experience.

The company is responsible for defining suitable tasks and supervising the intern at work. IAESTE requires that the intern receives a minimum wage of 18.000,- NOK a month, but beyond this the wage is at the discretion of the employer.

IAESTE will take care of all the paperwork and practical matters with regards to bringing the intern to Norway, while also providing a social programme to give the intern an enjoyable experience. There is an administration fee of 6.500,- NOK per student associated with this process.
