Sign Up Now for the Annual Subsea Innovation Day
“What and how to invent” is the theme for our Subsea Innovation Day 26 April. We are pleased to have Steinar Wasa Tverlid, Innovation Specialist in Statoil with us, who will share his experiences on how companies should work with innovation and how to present ideas to customers.
The Subsea Innovation Day will focus on future opportunities and challenges facing the subsea industry. We start with the big picture, trends and outlook, followed by lessons learned, presentations of subsea challenges and invitations to joint innovation projects.
How to Innovate
Steinar Wasa Tverlid is heading a dedicated innovation group in Statoil working with radical innovation. – Many companies are doing incremental improvements, but lack focus on challenges and possibilities that comes with radical innovation. An innovation process is a well-planned process that involves systems and knowledge. It is neither magic nor limited to yellow patches and brainstorming, says Tverlid.
Tverlid has held various positions within technical service, research and development and project management, based in several European countries. He will share his experiences and thoughts on how companies can work with innovation. He will also provide valuable insights and tips about how companies should present their ideas to customers.
Shares Experiences, Challenges and Possibilities
Specific innovation challenges will be given by key industry players such as Statoil, Gassco and DNV-GL and we will be advised on how companies should work to implement new solutions. Innovative companies will share their experiences and lessons learned in challenging innovation projects.
Furthermore, there will be a session where companies can present their ideas for new joint innovation projects, but there are still a few presentation slots available. If you would like to present your idea for potential partners, please send a short e-mail to jon.hellevang@gcesubsea.no as soon as possible.
Funding Opportunities for the Best Ideas
We will have two workshop sessions; one about the subsea future and one about specific challenges posted.
Working groups who identify interesting innovation projects during the sessions can be supported with pre-project funding from GCE Subsea to develop their idea.
