This book is a story about how Norway has gone from being an importer of subsea-equipment, to becoming a world-leading exporter of subsea technology.

The subsea industry is not only a part of the Norwegian oil and gas business, but also a central part of Norwegian industrial and contemporary history. Furthermore, this industry has a significant transfer value to other related industries such as offshore wind, fish farming and mineral extraction and there lies a great value in knowing the past to understand the contemporary and enter the future.
