The Future is Young

UNITECH invests in young, newly qualified talents when building up the organization to meet the future.

For the past year, UNITECH has, among others, employed Christina Røvær (26) and Karoline Sjøen Andersen (24), both young students from Haugalandet.

Christina Røvær started as Legal Assistant in UNITECH, June this year, and has one year of studies left with electives and master thesis in law in Bergen. She will specialize in intellectual property law, with focus on patent law. Her work at UNITECH will include contract law and development in the technology field, regarding offshore wind. She will also assist management with any dispute resolution situations.

– The study of law is very theoretical, so practical experience is very welcome to me. I also find my knowledge to be welcomed by UNITECH. After only one month at work, I have been involved in a big case and find that the management also have ambitions on my behalf. I embark on my work with joy and awe and feel lucky to have gotten this opportunity at UNITECH, says Røvær.

Karoline Sjøen Andersen is writing her master thesis in material science for energy and nanotechnology at UiO, on UNTIECH’s development project, Solar Pilot #2. She was hired as a part-time Junior Scientist when she started her masters in September last year. She quickly also became Site Manager at the Haugesund Office.

– I have really got the chance to blossom at UNITECH! From day one, I have been given responsibility and been encouraged to step out of my comfort zone. As the day passes, I get to take on bigger and more important tasks, says Sjøen Andersen.
CEO Gunnar Birkeland is very pleased with the young students:

– The fact that talented and committed students like Christina and Karoline find UNITECH as an exciting workplace is very motivating, especially for us seniors. Karoline, who does an important job for us on solar cells offshore in her master, just as well leads our office in Haugesund and represents us through lectures both domestic and abroad. UNITECH is a technology company, and Christina will immerse herself in IP and rights in her master. She will become a very valuable colleague and already contributes with great values after only a few weeks, says Birkeland.
