WiSub Acquired by Transmark Subsea
The acquisition will strengthen their ability to provide solutions for the growing market for underwater autonomy and wireless drone docking.
WiSub is an ocean technology company based in Bergen, Norway. They supply patented, innovative and flexible wet-mate pinless underwater connection systems to international markets.
Transmark Subsea manufactures a broad range of qualified cable systems for distribution of electrical signals, power and fibre optics to the offshore subsea industry.

GCE Ocean Technology have supported WiSub with pre-project funding; securing external funding from both Innovation Norway and the Research Council of Norway. Earlier this year, WiSub was awarded more pre-project funding from GCE Ocean Technology to enable faster, easier and more cost-efficient integration of underwater intervention drones into use.
WiSub took part in our first business development programme Subsea First Step in 2011. The founder and CEO Mark Bokenfohr has continuosly shared his experiences and expertise as an entrepreneur in various local and international forums, including cluster-organised events.

WiSub was awarded the Subsea Upcoming Company of the Year Award in 2014 at Bergen’s esteemed annual Underwater Technology Conference (UTC). Following that, the company was awarded the prestigious Spotlight on New Technology Awards at OTC in Houston in both 2015 and 2017.
