UTC – Extended Deadline for Call for Abstracts
There is still an opportunity to submit abstracts to the Underwater Technology Conference in Bergen. The call for abstracts deadline has been extended to 29 January.
Themes of interest are field for the future, subsea energy solutions, brown field or tie back technology and green field or deep and ultra-deep subsea technology.
Submit abstracts for UTC 2020.
Smarter Solutions for Manifold Challenges
Today’s subsea industry faces manifold challenges. It’s threatened by onshore, in the form of shale. It needs to remain vigilant towards capex inflation and must provide timely payback. It also needs remain relevant as we navigate the global energy transition.
These are challenges that the subsea industry is using its core competencies, knowledge and experience to tackle. To accelerate this transformation, we’re announcing Subsea - Enabling Smarter Solutions as the key theme for the 2020 Underwater Technology Conference (UTC) commencing 17 – 18 June in Bergen.
UTC for 40 Years
UTC 2020, is the industry’s longest running and most respected, subsea technology focused event. Celebrating 40 years since it was first held this year, this internationally renowned subsea event has continually evolved to meet today’s challenges, and this year is no different.
With Subsea – Enabling Smarter Solutions as our theme, we want to help the industry to move towards a long-term sustainable vision. It’s a vision that’s not only low-carbon but also highly capable, transferable and exportable. We want to support industry sharing and debate so that it can maintain but also further drive the technical leadership it already embodies, while also growing it, so that we can forge and support new energy industries in the ocean space in ways that also meet global societal needs.
We will not shy away from these challenges, because we know we have an industry that has the deep technical competencies as well as the curiosity and drive to find myriad solutions. It also has the willingness to seek solutions outside our industry.
Whether it’s future remote and autonomous fields, new subsea energies, smart technologies to support lean and effective brownfield projects or super-efficient and intelligent frontier, ultra-deepwater projects, we can help to drive the transition. This is our challenge. Join us.
