Meet Thea: Our New Innovation Consultant

Thea Båtevik, Innovation Consultant in GCE Ocean Technology

We are excited to welcome Thea Båtevik as our new Innovation Consultant in Bergen, bringing with her expertise and experience in the ocean industries and a commitment to the environment, climate and energy transition.


– With a Master's degree in Marine Biology from the University of Bergen and experience in project management, events and communication, Thea is the perfect fit for our team, says Owe Hagesæther CEO of GCE Ocean Technology.

Her responsibilities will include organizing seminars and conferences in the areas of enabling technologies and the transition towards more offshore renewable energy. Furthermore, she will assist in developing and securing funding for joint projects within these areas and supporting the cluster's work with all members, including start-up companies. With her qualifications and commitment, Thea is well-suited for this role.

– I am thrilled to join the team and embark on this exciting journey of getting to know all the organizations in the cluster better. I am confident that there will be numerous opportunities to work on innovative projects and initiatives that leverage my education and experience, says Thea.

She also brings with her valuable experience from her previous roles as a technical manager for marine litter in Fjordane Friluftsråd and festival manager for the Passion for Ocean festival which also reflects her commitment to the ocean, climate, and environment.

– I am eager to make a meaningful contribution to the cluster's efforts towards accelerating the energy transition and driving sustainable growth in the offshore industries, explains Thea.
