Helping you with financing your R&D Projects
The Norwegian tax deduction scheme SkatteFUNN provide funding for research and development projects. Learn how we could help you securing funding for your projects.
Earlier this week the Research Council of Norway held a course about SkatteFUNN. The course was aimed at helping companies take advantage of the opportunities to partially finance their research and development activities through Skattefunn.
Watch the recording from the seminar.
Who should apply for SkatteFUNN
The course provided guidance on which research and development activities could be included in SkatteFUNN projects, a good project description, and examples of how to highlight the key tasks the project will solve.
All companies that are liable to pay tax in Norway and registered in the Brønnøysund Register can apply for support through the SkatteFUNN scheme.
– SkatteFUNN is a right, meaning that you will get funding if you qualify. It is not like many other funding schemes being a competition for a limited amount of money, says Jon Hellevang, R&D Manager in GCE Ocean Technology.
The success rate to receive funding is typically quite a lot higher compared to other programmes. The drawback is a relatively modest funding rate, limited to 19% of your cost, with a maximum annual deduction basis of a total of 25 million Norwegian kroner per company.
Selecting the right funding scheme
A wide range of funding possibilities are available to support your research, development and innovation project.
GCE Ocean Technology provide advice on what funding scheme is best suitable for different projects, as well as assistance on how to apply for funding. So far, we have succeeded in helping cluster companies in securing about 2.7 billion NOK in external funding for projects owned and run by cluster companies.
You should note that the next application deadline for Innovation Projects is 7. June.
