Eight new Centres for Environment-friendly Energy Research (FME)
This week the Research Council of Norway announced the awarding of eight new Centres for Environment-friendly Energy Research (FME). Among these, GCE Ocean Technology is proud to be a collaborative partner in the gigaCCS centre.
The gigaCCS center addresses important and relevant research and innovation that is necessary for the realization of CO2 management on a large scale.
The center tackles R&D challenges across the entire value chain of CO2 management, including new innovations in capture, transportation, and storage of CO2.
Combined with solid international collaboration and a comprehensive educational program, this will provide valuable skill development that industrial players will need when CO2 management is implemented on an industrial scale.
Key partners in this venture include SINTEF Energy, SINTEF AS, NORCE, NGI, IFE, NTNU, UiO, and UiB, with the project scheduled to run from 2024 to 2032.
Our involvement in this project underscores GCE Ocean Technology's commitment to advancing sustainable energy solutions through impactful research and industry collaboration.
