A Buzzing Test Center at Stord

GCE Ocean Technology’s renewable energy resource group gathered at our site-visit to Stord to learn about the latest innovations and projects in the field.
GCE Ocean Technology’s renewable energy resource group gathered at our site-visit to Stord last year, to learn about the latest innovations and projects in the field.

Did you know you can test green shipping, floating offshore wind, and carbon capture solutions — and get access to funding, expertise, and world-class facilities — at Sustainable Energy in Stord?

Located in Stord, Energy House is one of Sustainable Energy's key test centres. Think of it as a ship on land – a place where new energy solutions can be tested at full scale under real conditions.

Here, you’ll find access to:

  • Renewable electricity
  • Green hydrogen from its own production plant
  • Ammonia, biogas – and more

The energy generated during testing is either used on-site, fed back to the local grid, or fuels green hydrogen production. It’s circular economy in action.
